Project Name
LYNX School
Location
Frederick, Maryland
Impact
LYNX at Frederick High School centers on creating highly individualized plans for student success that provide maximum student choice and flexibility in setting and meeting academic and career goals. LYNX stands for Linking Youth to New Experiences, and is a partnership between Frederick County Public School and community partners.
LYNX School’s innovative approach was created under the direction and leadership of Dr. Nancy Grasmick, Towson University Presidential Scholar and former Maryland State Superintendent of Schools. The initiative customizes education for each student, identifying and tapping into their unique interests and talents, helps to maximize their individual potential. Upon graduation, every student will have met Maryland’s rigorous college and career-ready standards. LYNX School will serve as a “pilot project” that could be scaled and replicated in high schools across the state and on a national level.
