Project Name
The Edward St. John Real Estate and Infrastructure Program
Location
Baltimore, Maryland
Impact
The Master of Science program provides graduate students with the opportunity to develop skills in connection with real estate development and affords them a strong base to bring fresh, innovative approaches to the field of real estate development.
In addition, funding was contributed to name the Edward St. John Board Room to provide a professional location for meetings and activities.
Edward St. John feels strongly that in order to be successful and to remain competitive, real estate professionals must understand the issues and concepts associated with planning, design, land development, finance, investment, management, and construction. When the decision was made to develop a comprehensive and multidisciplinary academic graduate program in real estate development studies at the Johns Hopkins University, Mr. St. John agreed to provide support. Instituted within the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School, the Edward St. John Real Estate and Infrastructure Program is unique in that it is one of the very few real estate programs of its kind that is part of a business school. The program was initially established as a full-time MBA program. The part-time program was added to provide employed individuals with the flexibility to achieve their master’s degree while working.
